Omorro, Moro, Moro . . . Wine and Cheese Set

We just happened to have three outstanding items in the shop named "Moro" and with their powers combined, you'll have a wonderful evening of wine and cheese!

Omorro is a torta-style cheese from the Azores. It has a thin, crispy rind which protects the ooey-gooey paste inside which is savory, meaty, buttery and practically spreadable. We haven't been able to get this cheese with any regularity so it's a treat whenever it's here!

Sottocenere al Tartufo is an Italian cow's milk cheese made by the Moro Formaggi, started by cheesemaker Sergio Moro. It is creamy and milky with black truffles and a vegetable ash rind.

The Emelio Moro Tempranillo is our favorite Spanish red wine in the shop. It's Emelio Moro's flagship wine (the winemaker of the HITO Tempranillo if you remember how good that one was!) and hails from Ribera del Douro in Spain. This red is lush, earthy, and peppery and a great Old World red that will appeal to all the California red wine drinkers out there.

The set includes one bottle of Emelio Moro Tempranillo, a 1/4 lb of Sottocenere al Tartufo, and a 1/2 wheel (a little under a 1/2 lb) of Omorro. These sets will be available for pick up anytime during business hours this Thursday (but if you need it sooner, we can accomodate if you just give us a call!). Cheers Denton!
